6πρυτανείας· τῶν προέδρων ἐπεψήφιζεν Νικί–
7ας Θημακειεύς· ἔδοξεν τῶι δήμωι· Χαιριωνίδ–

3hatte die erste Prytanie inne; Archelas S.d. Chairias
4aus (dem Demos) PalleneX war Sekretär; im Metageitnion am
5neunten, dem neununddreißigsten (Tag) der
6Prytanie; von den Vorsitzenden leitete die Abstimmung
7Nikias aus (dem Demos) Themakos; Beschluss des Volkes; Chairionidas
8S.d. Lysanias aus (dem Demos) Phlya stellte den Antrag: worüber das Volk
9dem Rat auftrug, eine Beschlussvorlage einzubringen
10über Pytheas, wie dieser geeehrt werde
11vom Volk, zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen das
12Volk: da Pytheas, zum Verantwortlichen für die Brunnen gewählt,
13für alles andere in seiner Funktion Sorge trug in guter und
14ehrenvoller Weise und jetzt beim Heiligtum des
15Ammon den neuen Brunnen errichtet
16und den Brunnen im Amphiaraon erbaut hat
17und für die Zuleitung des Wassers und die unterirdischen
18Kanäle ebendort Sorge getragen hat, dass man belobige Pytheas
19S.d. Sosidemos aus dem Demos Alopeke, sobald er Rechenschaft
20abgelegt hat, und ihn bekränze mit goldenem Kranz
21von 1000 Drachmen Wert wegen seiner Leistung und seiner
22Gerechtigkeit bei der Sorge um die Brunnen, damit
23auch die anderen künftig für die Brunnen
24Gewählten sich jeder in ehrenvoller Weise für das
25Volk bemühen; dass diesen Beschluss und den des
26Rates auf zwei steinerne Stelen der Sekretär,
27der während der Prytanien amtiert, aufzeichne und aufstelle
28die eine (Stele) im Heiligtum des Ammon, die andere in dem
29des Amphiaraos; für die Aufzeichnung auf den Stelen soll
30der Schatzmeister des Volkes 20 Drachmen geben für jede der
31beiden Stelen aus dem Dekret-Fonds
32des Volkes.

2In the archonship of Nikokrates (333/2), in the first
3prytany, of Aigeis, for which Archelas son of Chairias
4of Pallene was secretary. On the ninth
5of Metageitnion, the thirty-ninth of the
6prytany. Of the presiding committee Nikias
7of Themakos was putting to the vote. The People decided. Chairionides
8son of Lysanias of Phlya proposed: concerning the proposal
9that the People required the Council to formulate and
10bring forward about Pytheas, for him to be honoured
11by the People, for good fortune, the People shall decide:
12since Pytheas, having been elected in charge of the water supply,
13is both fulfilling his other official duties well
14and with love of honour and has now both constructed
15a new fountain at the sanctuary of Ammon
16and built the fountain in the Amphiaraion
17and has taken care of the water channel and the underground conduits
18there, to praise Pytheas
19son of Sosidemos of Alopeke, when he has rendered his
20accounts, and crown him with a gold crown
21of 1,000 drachmas for his excellence and justice
22in his management of the water supply,
23in order that others who are elected
24in charge of the water supply may each of them also show love of honour towards the
25People; and the prytany secretary shall inscribe
26this decree and that of the Council
27on two stone stelai and stand one
28in the sanctuary of Ammon and one in
29that of Amphiaraos; and for inscribing the stelai
30let the treasurer of the People give 20 drachmas for each
31stele from the People’s fund for
32expenditure on decrees.
